Making Your Own Shakuhachi Carry Bag
Important Note: NEVER transport a 2-piece shakuhachi in a soft bag such as this unless it has first been disassembled.
fFurther Note: It is not necessary to make this carry bag from waterproof or 'air-tight' materials. Bamboo shakuhachi should normally be stored in an airtight container such as plastic bag. But for transport for short periods, this is not necessary. A separate plastic bag can however be placed inside this bag if you are worried about cracking or if you are travelling to zones of unusually hot or cold or dry climes. Such long and thin plastic bags can be obtained from either your teacher or shakuhachi makers/suppliers.
